New competitions in 2025!

We know there's lots of magnificent mullets in South Gippy and we want to celebrate them on showday! Classes for kids, women and men thanks to our local hairdressers and the Welshpool Hotel. Also new to 2025 is the Calf Classic, where exhibitors get the chance to show off their calf raising and handling skills while relishing in the opportunity to learn from seasoned show cattle exhibitors. We can't wait to see what locals have been working towards this Summer.

2025 Foster Show Calf Classic

We want to encourage the next generation of livestock handlers by hosting our inaugural Calf Classic at the 2025 Show. Taking inspiration from the Hedley Calf Club that ran from the 1930’s-80’s, we can’t wait to see kids and their hand-raised calves on showday.

Kids are encouraged to rear a calf (assist with feeding, cleaning and husbandry associated with raising a calf), prepare it for showday (handle, brushing etc) and then present it before the judge at the show.

For more information contact Robbie Davidson on 5185 1341 or 0400 861 332.

  • As a mum, the Foster Agricultural Show in Gippsland, Victoria, is an annual highlight that brings immeasurable joy to our family.

  • The show's commitment to being family-friendly was evident in every aspect. The petting farm, featuring adorable sheep and miniature goats, created a hands-on connection to farm life that our children adored. The dog jump competition showcased impressive canine skills and kept the whole family entertained.

  • In essence, the Foster Agricultural Show is a well-rounded and delightful experience for families. From engaging activities for kids to the charming petting farm, captivating dog jump, and delectable food offerings, it's a must-attend event that leaves us eagerly anticipating the joy it brings each year.

  • All in all, the Foster Ag Show was a perfect mix of learning and fun. From the stress-free shuttle to unexpected gems like "Fashions in the Field," shearing, wool spinning, and the wood chop contest, it had something for everyone. We left with big smiles, a deeper appreciation for country living, and some unforgettable memories. Can't wait for next year's shenanigans!

  • Our family looks forward to this show every year - it has such a great atmosphere, a real traditionally-rural event. The kids adore the animals on show and the dog high jump event, whilst the adults enjoy catching up with old friends and wandering through the Pavillion exhibitions. It's the best day! - Mel Webster

  • Our day at the Foster Ag Show was a blast! We hopped on the shuttle bus from Toora, which was a genius move—no parking hassle, and we could kick back knowing we'd have a ride back to our car. Smart thinking!
